What's the role of photo journalism?
Photo journalism is a form of an image(s) that tell a story or detailed description about them. Photo journalism is mostly viewed in news media because the images are used in stories that will help provide evidence to a better news related story. Images that photo journalists provide give us a better understanding and make us read the newspaper or watch the news on TV. Also, those who don’t read the newspaper or watch the news can use technology such as the internet or videophones to see these images if they travel a lot.

Is the ethics of taking journalistic photos different than the ethics of writing a news story?
Taking journalistic photos is taking an image and trying to capture a moment where it’s most descriptive enough to tell a story for other’s to be able to understand. It is different from the ethics of writing a news story because writing a story lets the writer describe and put as much detail into the story as possible, but with the ethics of taking a journalistic photo one will still have boundaries that will become unable to describe such details.

What's the impact of altering press photographs? Should they be edited (at all) in post production?
The impact of altering press photographs is like starting a rumor, it’s not an original photograph and edited to become something falsely accusing. Sometimes an edited photo can grab more of the public’s attention, and like a rumor it will spread quickly if the editing makes it more interesting. Depending on the story I don’t think press photographs should be edited in post production because it’ll show the truth to the photo.
